7 Days Mount Kenya Technical climb to Nelion Batian Peaks

You have the morning drive from Nairobi via Nanyuki Town and onto the Sirimon Gate ( 2,650 metres). Start the trek and trek for 4 hours to the Old Moses Hut (3,300 metres). Dinner and overnight at the Old Moses Hut. Full board

Breakfast. Trek onto the West side of the Valley over the Ride then down to Mackinder's Valley. The trek today taskes 5 hours. Trek on to the Shiptons Hut ( 4,200 metres). Full board

Breakfast. This is the acclimatization day with a morning trek to around the peak via Simba Col to the Austrian Hut (4,790 metres). Overnight at Austrian Hut. Full board

Wake up at 2 a.m. and have some tea and biscuits and depart for Point Lenana (4985 metres); the 3rd highest peak on Mount Kenya by sunrise. Enjoy the views and take some photos. Descend to the Austrian Hut; your base for climbling to the Nelion Peak (5,188 metres), the 2nd highest peak on Mount Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Austrian Hut. Full board

5 Am: Commence the trek through Lewis Glacier upto the Base of Nelion to start undertaking the Technical Climb to the Nelion Point (5188 metres). Traverse the gate of mist and continue the climb to Batian Peak (5,199 metres); the second highest peak in Africa. Climb back to Nelion and overnight at Austrian Hut (5,100 metres). Full board

After sunrise, abseil down to the bottom and trek to the Austrian Hut for breakfast.

Descend through the Chogoria Route and onto the Meru Bandas Hut.

Breakfast. Trek through Bamboo and indigenous forests to catch your transfer vehicle to Nairobi via Chogoria Town to arrive in the evening and are either dropped off at your Nairobi Hotel or transferred to the Airport. Breakfast and lunch
